One night, Max and I were having a difference of opinion. Not wanting to go into it any further, I got up and headed for the bedroom. Just as I got to the bedroom door, I heard the most biting words from Max, "Run, rabbit, run!" He shouted out loud. "You must like being miserable. You run and hide when things get tough. Go ahead, little rabbit, run!"
I stormed back into the living room, folding my arms akimbo. I glared at him hatefully and said: "Do you think I like being miserable? Shutting the world out--and you, as well? I hate it. I really hate it." I started to cry.
He smiled broadly and in a loud voice he declared proudly: "Girl, I love you! That's what I want you to do FIGHT! Fight for yourself, fight for us, fight for your freedom--for what you've gained. You have your freedom, now fight to hold on to it. God is making you a new person so fight for that!"

About the Book
<>This is Barbara’s story, a story of growing up in a dysfunctional home, later, promiscuity, divorce, grief and ultimately, extreme mental illness. It encompasses her struggle to overcome bipolar tendencies, irrational fears, deep depression and anxious thoughts which had led to countless hospital stays, where prominent psychiatrists had given up in their treatment.
After Barbara’s twin sister passed away in 2013, she thought her life was over. But, the Lord was not finished with her yet. He led her to a man who walked with her through her depressed and disturbed mind, and eventually guided her into a world she had never known before, a world of light , love and happiness.
It is a story of how Jesus Christ reaches into a person’s darkness and offers them hope, peace and true joy. For Barbara, mental illness is a thing of the past, because faith in Christ helped her change her focus and led her into the light.
About the Author
Barbara Rodgers was born in Cleveland, Ohio. She worked in the insurance field and also public relations from l97l to l983. She attended college for 3 years studying art, mass media communications and journalism. Moved to Aldine Wisconsin where she has settled with her husband, Max Rodgers and their 2 dogs, Coco and Sammy, 4 parakeets, and their rabbit named Chestnut. Max was born in Portage Wisconsin and attended school in Milwaukee, after graduating he spent 40 years in Illinois. Where he worked In manufacturing and raised a family. Currently he is working in Aldine as a transportation driver.
