We all want success. We all want to be successful.
We spend our days planning and preparing for our great day of success.
Success is more than the end we seek.
It is a co-operation of all our choices and decisions and actions in 'insignificant' details
It is in the hidden habits that reflects in our public personality
The generosity of our love that inspires the generosity of our purse
It is when we understand
That is not so much of our efforts to be crowned
But accepting grace that has covered for it all.
No longer is it about our achievements, our trophies and praise
But about rising to raise others who'll raise others in a chain of excellence
It is helping and knowing when you need help yourself
It is being a channel not a terminal.
You see my dear, success is never, never about you
If you desire it, desire it for the sake of others
And remember, it is not a single end product
But the cumulative successes of every single decision and process that precedes the product.

Attempting this truth to tell
For only in becoming children
Our portion in eternity is established.
Let “it” go.
Lay down the rags of self-righteousness
The stench of Law
Receive; The robe of Righteousness
Washed in Christ’s blood
Splashed with the fragrance of Grace.

About the Author
“Truth, I live for and will eventually die for; the only person called truth.”
Deborah Ade is a Christian with a flair for poetry. From the conflict of low self-esteem and what she refers to as “the problem with my name,” she found the truth that solved it all: “If Christ must be Lord at all, He must be Lord of all.” From this she began the journey of surrender, a journey that would become healing. She is an alumna of Covenant University Nigeria fondly called Hebron, and currently pursuing graduate studies at Cornell University.
