About the Author
Tanya C. Stokes has been a leader all her life. During her high school years she was an honor student, class president for four years, and co-captain of a class A championship basketball team, where she earned the honor of Athlete of the Year in the city of Flint. Her team has since been recognized in the Greater Flint Athletic Hall of Fame.
In 2009, Tanya was inducted into the Greater Flint Afro-American Athletic Hall of Fame. Tanya’s formal education includes a bachelor of applied arts in broadcasting and cinematic arts from Central Michigan University. She double majored in broadcasting and journalism. She holds a master’s in theology from Moody Theological Seminary.
Tanya and her husband, Timothy, founded Family Worship Center Church International in 1991 in Flint, Michigan. The church has grown from ten members to over one thousand. Tanya’s strengths are her practical wisdom and creating strategies that work.
Tanya currently resides in Flint with her husband and their four children: Brendon, Amber, Emmanuel and Timothy II.
