According to the book of Genesis, God created the garden of Eden specifically for Adam, the first man of His creation. The garden of Eden was opulent and was filled with nourishment for Adam to live without the need to toil. The Creator desired planet earth to be a replica of the garden of Eden. Adam was given that assignment, his purpose. However, when he committed high treason in the garden of Eden, he and Eve were immediately thrust into a world filled with decadence and decay, and entered a world void of the presence of God.
Satan's modus operandi, from the beginning of time, has been to breach the relationship between God and humankind. He uses an arsenal of weaponry to thwart the plan of God in the lives of God's people. One of the tools Satan employed in the garden of Eden was deception. Adam relegated his authority to Satan after Eve was deceived, and aborted the purpose that God had preordained for his life.
Each facet of God's original plan for Adam was torn asunder when he ate of the forbidden fruit. His relationship with The Father was severed within a millisecond. His position as a ruler was terminated, he became a common laborer, and a carnal man ruled by his five physical senses.
The intimate, revelatory relationship Adam had with God became a distant memory. Suddenly he found himself in a mysterious world. The flaws in Adam's character became a part of his DNA and the genetic code of future generations. Humankind would be treacherously filled with greed, selfishness, and amoral behavior.
The Scriptures are replete with illustrations of biblical characters that were victims of snares that were set to sabotage their destinies. Various illustrations in the Old and New Testaments reveal how Satan used his weapons of destruction to circumnavigate the divine purpose of God in their lives.
Satan's methodologies have not changed. He subtly looks for human proclivities in individuals and an opportune time to dismantle the purpose that God has envisioned. Nevertheless, the Word of God assures us that we can prevail over Satan's tactics and fulfill our destinies. However, the prerequisite for God's plan to manifest in our lives is for His sons and daughters to walk in integrity.
God has created a trajectory for our lives that is designed to change the culture around us and to define our legacies. His master plan will establish the course for our lives as He positions us to transform the lives of those within our spheres of influence.
