“Now mother? Will you tell me now?”
Nika laughed. “Alright, come lie down and I will tell you of your special heritage.”
Papi curled up on his bed of hay.
“What’s ‘heritage’ mother?”
“It means something that is passed down from generation to generation.”
“What’s ‘generation’?” asked Papi.
“Well,” said Nika, “Grandfather was part of his generation, I am part of my generation and you are part of the next generation, you see?”
“Oh!” said Papi.
“Hush now and listen.”
And this is the story that Nika told.
