It's Time to Pray

We have dominion and the devil is defeated. Both are true statements and both are truly stated yet that is not the picture that we see all around us. In fact the contrary is what we see taking place in our world. I believe the reason for this stems from so many Christians not walking in the authority; leaving the position open for someone else to walk in and the devil is in many cases walking in our authority! As a result we are seeing increased evil and darkness. But good news! There is now a generation ready to do more than just be named the manifested sons of God, we are ready to BE the manifested sons of God in action and indeed. We have come to spoil all the principalities and powers, take what belongs to the Kingdom of God and usher in the return of Jesus! Let us now revisit what was stated in chapter 2 regarding our authority given to us in the Garden of Eden. In the beginning right after God made the heavens and the earth, God made man and gave him dominion."

God will not violate what he said in Genesis 1:26 because if he did, then he would be a liar. So for that reason, those to whom authority and dominion were given are the ones who are to be in control. Webster's Dictionary 1828 say that the word Dominion is defined as "Sovereign or supreme authority; power of governing and controlling." We have authority on the earth and though God desires to step in and take action on our behalf, it is unlawful for Him to do so.He has limited Himself to operate on earth to the degree of authority we relinquish to Him and we do that generally through prayer and confession. Now can you see why in order for God to get involved in our affairs, somebody must pray? Things will only happen on earth if we allow it because:

God gave dominion of the earth to Adam and his family.

Whatever God says becomes law to creation and to Himself.

God is bound by His word.

Adam gave dominion of the earth to Satan in the garden. God put a plan in motion to recover the plan that Adam aborted but because he had already given authority to man God had to get permission from a man to redeem man. So he sent The Christ as a man named Jesus into the earth. Jesus in the form of a man died on the cross and during the 3 days His body was in the tomb Jesus disarmed the "rulers and authorities" of darkness took back the authority over the earth from Satan.

Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated. 17 And when they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted [that it was really he]. 18 Jesus came up and said to them, "All authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. (Matthew 28: 16-18)

Jesus gave the keys of authority back to man so any operation that takes place on earth must be allowed by man including the operations of the devil. That is why Satan tries so hard to get people to sin. Without a person willing to go against God (better known as a sinner) Satan can do nothing on this earth.

In the scriptures Jesus tells us, His disciples, that he is giving unto us the power and authority.(Luke 10:17-19) It is a biblical fact that Jesus took back the legal ownership of the earth from Satan with His defeating Satan in open combat as described in Colossians chapter 5. Satan lost the authority he once had over the earth, the authority that Adam handed over to Satan in the Garden of Eden is no longer Satans. The authority over the earth is now back in the hands of man according to Gods original plan in Genesis 1:26. We have all power and all authority over the devil.

Jesus lived on the earth was crucified, died and rose again over 2000 years ago. The transfer of power has been made from the enemies' hands back to ours and yet, many believers are still not walking in this delegated authority because many don't believe that they have any power in the matters of life. Many are fatalistic in that they believe that fate hands you the situations and you deal with it as it comes; you're powerless against it, so they sit by and let the devil do whatever he pleases. Meanwhile, they're wondering where God is and why he isn't doing something about their situations. The truth is God already did something to defeat every satanic weapon and every demonic plan, God sent Jesus to put man back in the place of authority. That was the whole point of Jesus coming, to bring us back to the dominion given away by Adam in the garden.

Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ went away and left us in charge of all the affairs of the Kingdom to handle them as he would. Therefore, Delegated Authority has been given to us to finish the work that Jesus began while here on earth. We manage this delegated responsibility by keeping close communications with God through reading the book of His will which is the Bible, and by speaking to Him regularly through prayer. This way when something occurs that is against the will of our Father, we immediately address it with our weapon of prayer and spiritual warfare.
