Hearing Dad for the First Time

So you have now made it through the whole pregnancy ordeal, you have survived the birth of your child and you have officially now moved your baby into their newly established place of residence (the nursery). All that is left to be done now is to live the rest of your life to it’s fullest.

It is no secret that life does change dramatically after you have welcomed a new baby into your home, however initially upon bringing your newborn baby home you can expect to lose some sleep. But rest assured, if there are two of you sharing in the routine and attending to the needs of your baby, then it really is not that bad at all.

You will learn to sleep in intervals. But mainly, you will learn that your wants are no longer important as you now have this little clone of yourself that demands all your tender loving care and undivided attention.

I love being a Father and I love every step of my journey as a Father to date. But I have to admit, I really do cherish the first months the most thus far. My son seemed so tiny and fragile. I remember I was so hesitant to pick him up and hold him for fear of breaking him. However after getting him into my arms, those hurdles seemed like a mere grain of rice.

There is no greater life experience than parenting and don’t you let anyone tell you any different. Becoming a Father has changed my life completely for the better and has personally given me a new found perspective on my life as a man.

My purpose for living now is primarily to be the best Father that I can be. And that means that I will try to do everything and anything within my power to give my son the best life that I can. Becoming a Father has not only helped me to become a better person, but also a better husband, brother and friend. Your life as you once knew it will change for the better. So embrace it and start living.
