The car spun around one and a half times, ending up sliding backwards down the center median of the highway. Mary Lou had been asleep in the back seat and woke up as we were spinning around, she thought we had gotten caught up in a tornado. Lisa had been asleep in the passenger seat and when she woke up she thought she was on a ride at King’s Island, where she had been just the weekend before.

About the Author
Born in Salem, Ohio, in 1951, Jerry Stump moved with his parents to California in 1959. After four years of service in the USAF, including a year in Vietnam, he returned home, married, and had two children. While looking for work in 1984, Jerry returned to his Ohio roots. He now resides in Alliance, Ohio, near his childhood home.
