This next section of our study is interestingly intriguing because of the revelations, and there are many, contained therein. Some, who preach the gospel, avoid this verse, fearing it will be controversial. The Bible tells us not to engage in controversy or genealogies that bring about confusion. The Holy Bible also says, that we must tell the whole truth of the Scriptures. Therefore, to keep down controversy, the preacher, teacher, must provide full detail about the subject at hand, whatever that subject is. He or she must provide Scripture to support the subject. Moreover, the lecturer must not theorize the truth out of the Scripture, and he or she must not allow the doctoral theologies of studied men to sway their belief away from the truth of the Bible, by science or other rhetoric. Having said that, let us look at Genesis 6:4:
“There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men ofrenown.”
Let us examine the words of this verse and define the significant, specific words that detail what is going on in this verse:
“Giants:” is a bully or tyrant, from the prime root word naphal, which is fall, cast-down, out, fugitive, be judged, overthrow, mistake.
These giants were of ruinous character. They had fallen from favor, they are to be judged, and they bully and lead others in the wrong direction. At some point in time, they made a grave decision that led to them becoming fugitives from justice.

“Sons:” of the word ben, has many meanings; some of the defining words for sons in this text are, rebel, tumultuous, very fruitful, in the wildest sense of relationship, Ammon, nation, and much, much more.
These sons are recalcitrant (difficult to handle), involve themselves in chaos, lewd and lascivious behavior, live a wild lifestyle, and engage in sexual intercourse often, with many different partners.
“Mighty:” from the word gibbor means, powerful, tyrant, warrior, chief.
Being of large statue, these men possessed great strength, and could easily brutalize those of normal statue; and therefore, made excellent fighters. Inasmuch, they became the chiefs over the people by force.
“Men:” of the Hebrew word enowsh, is to be a hypocrite, low, species, mean, low degree; and get this, in the flower of their age. Otherwise stated, excited, youthful hormonal influence.
These were scandalous, mean, disrespectful men. They were hypocrites, doing and saying one thing, and dictating to others what they could and could not do and say, committing acts that demeaned others for their own pleasures.
“Old:” from the prime root word uwl, which the derivative word olam comes, is equal to the word old, which is: eternity, always, long time, perpetual, beginning of the world.
These figures were of ancient times, they had been around for a long time. They were of a time that apparently existed for eons. All of the words used to define “Old” in this text are words that mean from the beginning, the genesis. They have existed as long as the earth has existed.
“Renown:” shame, from the prime root word shem which means, name, individual, through the idea of definite and conspicuous position, report. It is an appellation or description, which is to appoint and set apart for a special purpose.

These men brought about a high level of shame to themselves. They spread false reports to those around them. They each, had a specific role and position in their original place of habitation. They had never-ending positions in eternality, positions of authority and open and obvious renowned status in that habitation.
Let us now turn back to Genesis 3:15, which reads:
