It was the 1st of November and Halloween was over. It had been a lot of fun and excitement for Gracie and Evan who loved the costumes, candy and all the wonderfully scary things about this holiday. It was a bit of a let down now that all of the fun was over. They kept asking when Christmas would come and of course they could hardly wait.
One day in the afternoon a big brown truck pulled up in the driveway. The kids heard the noise and ran to the window to see what it was. “Mom, mom, a great big truck pulled up in our driveway. Why is that truck here?” Mom said, “That’s the delivery truck that brings packages to our house.” “You mean that it’s a bringing truck?” asked Gracie. “Well most people just call it the delivery truck but you can call it the bringing truck if you want to”, said Mom.

About the Book
The Bringing Truck is a story of the wonder and happiness of the Christmas season from a child’s point of view. Ordinary delivery trucks become magical providers of Christmas joy in this tale of anticipation. It may bring back memories in all of us who are still children at heart of how really exciting the holiday season was as a child with so many good things and family times together.
As the story begins, Halloween is over, and the children are hoping for some kind of fun or excitement. When a big delivery truck comes to their house, Grace bestows on it the name, “The Bringing Truck”. As she and her brother, Evan, look forward to the holidays, they watch for the Bringing Truck to drop off packages promised by their grandmother. They become impatient as the days grow shorter and wonder if their presents have been lost or forgotten.
When Christmas Eve arrives, they are very downhearted that no presents have yet come. Later in the day, they finally hear the Bringing Truck pulling into the driveway and bringing with it an even greater surprise than they had hoped. The driver turns out to be perhaps more than just a delivery truck driver and leaves them all with a Christmas present they will never forget.

John G. Miller, originally from Memphis, Tennessee, lives with his wonderful wife and two amazing kids in beautiful upstate South Carolina. He is a mechanical engineer by profession and author by compulsion. He is a published author of the children’s book David’s Ocean Journey. About the Illustrator
Sue S. Miller, the illustrator, is the mother of John G. Miller, the author of the book. Sue now lives in upstate South Carolina, but she lived all of her professional life in Memphis, Tennessee. She is a professional painter who has exhibited widely in Memphis and the Midsouth and graduated from the Memphis College of Arts (BFA) and the University of Memphis (MFA). She is one of the founders of the Artists’ Link—Memphis Area Visual Artists a nonprofit group for visual artists.
