What an awesomely encouraging thought! We spend so much of our time on this globe going through our daily routines, trying to balance our jobs, family obligations, recreation and entertainment with our walk with God. And, in the melting pot of everyday living, most of us do acknowledge God’s presence and care. Even when troubles beset us we, for the most part, are quick to turn to Him for help and encouragement. Yet there is the subtle and almost imperceptible tendency to allow our view of God to drift away from being a concrete reality to a ‘Someone up there who may or may not help but who will at least, more than likely, give me enough strength to struggle through and survive by the skin of my teeth. But as long as I hang on and have heaven to look forward to I will somehow make it through…’- you get the idea by now. It is spiritually rewarding to renew the realization that the Maker of heaven and earth is our help. It is our level of faith and our scope of the true greatness of God that determines whether we trudge defeatedly through the tribulations of life or we march through in triumph and victory. Our hope is in the living God who says that we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ. Remembering who God truly is inspires unconquerable hope!

About the Book
Living a holy life centered in God’s word in today’s changing world is becoming more challenging and frustrating for many of Christ’s disciples. The pressure to conform to society and submit to its relaxed morality seems to increase daily in the workplace, in our homes, and even in many of our churches! Some Christians have reacted aggressively to these pressures and in their zeal and passion have moved away from the love and compassion necessary to be effective servants of Christ. Others have retreated into their churches or fellowships, hunkering down to weather the storm but unsure what actions to take. They are just trying to survive but have lost their ability to be the salt and light that this world so desperately needs. Biblical Christians everywhere are in desperate need of a revival of true holiness. This begins with our own personal walk with God. One of the overwhelming needs of believers today is to recapture what the core of Christianity is…having a vibrant, consistent and personal relationship with God. Cultivating a Holy Heart is a daily devotional which can help point us in the right direction. About the Author
Born in Hornell, New York, and growing up in San Diego, California, Clemens Russell is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene. A 1978 graduate of Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky, he has spent most of his life in bi-vocational ministry. He was ordained into the Evangelical Methodist Church in 1984 and pastored churches in Western New York and North Carolina. He then moved to Eastern Pennsylvania where he worked for the Salvation Army as a Community Youth Director. His credentials were transferred to the Church of the Nazarene in 2000 where he pastored in Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Presently he assists at the Community Church of the Nazarene in Northfield, New Jersey and is involved in supply and revival ministries while working full time as a delivery driver. His work as a bi-vocational minister has helped him to maintain a realistic and practical outlook on holiness. Cultivating a Holy Heart was not a planned book. It came about as a result of the authors own personal devotional life.
Clemens has been married to his wife, Sharon, for 40 years and has 4 children and 9 grandchildren so far…. He presently lives with his wife and youngest son in New Jersey where he enjoys camping, fishing, gardening and serving his Lord.
