Who? What? Where? When? Why? and How? A Creative look at Life’s Main Issues © is in two parts:
Part A: A Creative Look at Life’s Main Questions and
Part B: Forest Primeval—A Creative Look at Society
Both parts deal with the most commonly asked life questions and issues in a creative manner with original proverbs, parables, anecdotes that act as parables, allegories, short stories, poetry, devotionals, commentaries, and plain common sense. All are designed to prompt higher thinking processes than most of us are regularly confronted with in daily life. Forest Primeval is a continuation of the format with all chapters presenting one long allegory that expose current cultural issues we all must deal with. Christian doctrine is creatively symbolized and accurately explained in simple contemporary terms for encouragement in the knowledge that there is a purpose for every human being.
Illustrations that appeal to our “inner child,” make reading a pleasurable experience and the Christian content palatable and thought provoking, while still offering some deep, substantial answers to the important questions we all have. Ten major life questions addressed plus more that are embedded in the content include: Who am I?
• Where did I come from?
• Why Am I Here?
• What is truth?
• Is there really a God?
• Why is there evil in the world?
• Why Jesus?
• Can I control events in my life?
• What principles should I live by?
• Where do I go when I die?
• If you have answers to the above questions, how do you know they are right?
• If your answers were challenged by torture or threat of death, would you stand or falter?
Some of the issues raised include learning about our Source, our origin, rejection, pride, lack of preparation, victory, how the animal world mimics human behavior, and more. Current social issues are creatively and humorously addressed that challenge our faith.
A subsequent publication (projected title: Who? What? Where? When? Why? and How? Revisited: A Deeper Look at Life’s Main Questions ©) will follow to provide expanded answers to these prevailing life questions.
Why Metaphors?
Proverbs, parables, and allegories use metaphors, similes, and symbols that call our attention to truths and wisdom relating our life experiences and desires to spiritual matters. Serious ideas can be presented in an entertaining and memorable format that eases the digestion of the information. These ideas prompt and guide deeper critical thinking about important issues concerning our existence now and what is ahead after life is completed on this lovely and important blue planet, a minute speck in the vast, dark outer space.
Think for Yourself Scripture also supports many prompts for self-examination in a “non-churchy” manner for anyone who has become a skeptic and is disgusted with hypocrisy and superficial doctrine that bypasses satisfaction. Logic and Scripture provide nudges to seeking truth and to question and test what is learned.
Take the Challenge. The main objective of this manuscript is to prompt the reader to think logically and to question everything, including this manuscript. We don’t check our brains at the door when we enter the Door of Life. So, prepare yourself to consider challenges with ideas, information, and suppositions that may contradict what you have thought or been taught. Unless all possibilities are honestly considered with an open mind—no pre-conceived agenda—an informed decision cannot be made. Engage your mind in this adventure. My sincere hope and prayer is that you will think on a deeper level about eternal issues than you have ever done before. I believe you will find the content here enjoyable as well as a thought-provoking and memorable experience.
