What can you find as you search today
to add to our nativity scene?
Do you think that Camels were actually there?
If so, then what did they bring?
Camels are lanky, and sometimes look funny
with one hump or sometimes with two.
Their feet are quite large and so is their tummy,
and they make silly faces at you.
But camels are big and camels are strong
and can gallop across the land.
They carry great loads when the journey is long
and can walk through the blowing sand.
So it must have been camels that came that day
with the wise men who followed the star.
And they must have been loaded with all it took
to make such a trek from afar.
But it was more than goods these animals bore,
for they also carried some treasure.
They brought great gifts to the newborn king,
gold and incense and myrrh.
And just like the camels were thrilled long ago
to give gifts to the newborn king.
We too have a treasure, and it is this:
the gift of our hearts to bring.

Stable ADVENTures is a book of children’s devotionals for the Christmas season. The book is part of a hands-on twenty-five day search-and-find adventure that also includes a stable play tent and a matching card game. The Stable ADVENTures book can be used as a stand-alone twenty-five day advent activity. This offer includes book only. About the Author
Mark and Janet Stout created Stable ADVENTures out of a love for God’s Word and a passion to share Jesus with children everywhere. Mark has been a Bible teacher for over twenty-five years and is the author of Arrowproof: What It Means to Have Faith. Janet has been an elementary school teacher, a children’s pastor, a CASA, and is currently teaching children at Community Bible Study. They have three beautiful granddaughters and another on the way who they trust will meet Jesus in a new and deeper way as they seek Him through Stable ADVENTures.
LeAnn Kalvoda was born and raised in Dodge City, Kansas. Her parents taught her the value of an education and a love for Jesus Christ. After graduating from high school, she left for the big city to pursue a career in art. She has been involved in ministering to children since she was in children’s ministry herself! She loves to use her talents in art to help lead people, especially—small people—to a relationship with Christ!
