THE ANGRY SEA
Out on the sea tossed to and fro
The angry billows around me roll.
My ship is small and my craft so light
The sea is angry and dark is the night.
The waves are about to sink my boat
When His hand rescues me and I stay afloat.
He whispers to the waves “peace Be Still”
The waves and the sea obey His will.
Who is this man that controls the sea?
What type of person can this man be?
Quickly I feel the answer inside my heart
He is the Master!!!! From Him never depart!!!
He alone is able to calm this sea
That tosses me round and about.
He is able to turn night into day
Rescue me when I am losing my way.
I’ll trust, obey and let Him lead the way.
He wants to turn my night into day.
I’ll not worry but lean way back in His arms
He will guide, shelter and protect me from harm.
No sea is too rough and no night so dark
That He will not lead the way.
Reach out to Him and He will take you hand
And lead you safely to the promised land.

Doris Shields was found by God when she was six. She has a deep appreciation for His love. Doris resides in Texas, where she enjoys attending church, spending time with family, and writing poetry.
