“Dear Lord . . . Oh, God!”
Throughout her adult years Cami had greeted her Maker each morning with prayer. But that first morning when Cami awoke was so different, so difficult. For in order to pray she had to state what the circumstances were which were troubling her. Instead, her prayer became a cry of one phrase–“Lord help me . . .” --before she broke down and cried. She did not have the emotional stamina to put her thoughts into words. Besides, trying to vocalize her petitions only recalled more heartbreaking events she wished to forget.
But still–torrents of thoughts raced through her mind as swiftly as a thunderbolt and every bit as deadening and reverberating–“Gone! My precious one is gone! No, my heart won’t accept what my mind is saying as fact. I’ll roll over and go back to sleep. Sleep, no matter how short-lived, will be such a welcomed relief to harsh reality. Yes, that’s what I’ll do; I’ll roll over and go back to sleep because then I will feel no pain. When I awaken later, I’ll find out that this was all just a bad dream–a nightmare–that I can shake off.”
As Cami closed her eyes to sleep, she thought, "For now, all I want to think about are the good times--the carefree times of childhood.

About the Author
Cami Taylor's life promised to be idyllic--that is, until unforeseen tragedy struck her. Where once she reveled in green valleys beside still waters, now she found herself having to scale mountains she never thought she would have to climb. However Cami felt the unwavering hand of God upon her life--whether she was in the valley-- but especially as she attempted to overcome mountains of obstacles of all types: mental, emotional, and spiritual. Cami came to discover that the God who had been with her since childhood was more than able to help her over the threatening, ominous mountains she had to face. The author gives unique insights from two perspectives: 1)as a young mother of two children and 2)then as an older woman looking back over her life.
