"Now get ready," Gideon said with a smile. I braced myself as we began to free-fall into the storm cloud below. We shot through the gray cloud cover over my neighborhood, and caused the bright sunlight to follow. The warm glow of the sun quickly chased the rainy day away.
A victory lap proceeded as we soared through my neighborhood. “Yeah!” I shouted, as we flew through town.
We soared over my school and through the park. It was truly amazing as we sailed through the trees and over a majestic pond.
I knew we were nearing the end of our adventure when we turned back toward the tallest tree in sight. "What do you think of flying?" My new eagle friend asked.
“It’s amazing of course. I never want to travel any other way,” I answered as we landed. I slid down his wing and plopped into the nest below.

The Day I Flew with an Eagle is an illustrated children’s book about a young boy named Malakai who goes on an amazing adventure with his eagle friend, Gideon. The two soar above the clouds and find a way to dispel the rain clouds casting shadows throughout the neighborhood.
