The Spirit of Truth
Since we are focusing on truth, let's take a brief look at the Spirit of Truth.
Let's look at John 14: 15-21 "If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him: you know him, for he dwells with you, and will be in you. I will not leave you desolate: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more.
But you will see me: because I live, you will live also. In that day you will know that I am in my Father and you in me, and I in you. He who has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me; and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest my self to him."
First of all we see that the Spirit of truth comes from God. Given to us in part because of the prayers and partition of Jesus.
With the condition that we love him and keep his commandments.
So in this case we should know where the spirit of lying comes from.
John 8: 44 ' You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. '
So, since the devil is the prince of this world and if you are of this world or about the business of this world then you will never be able to receive the Spirit of truth, because in John 14, it plainly tells us that the world cannot receive, see or know him.
If we are of those who profess to be of Christ and find ourselves practicing lying, then we are truly liars, the truth is not in us and we do not know Christ at all. And that's the truth.
So the question that I pose to the professed Christian is, ‘once the truth is laid out before you, are you going to be opened minded and let the spirit of God work in and through you or are you going to continue practicing lying’?
Let’s look at an example of practicing lies and deceit that’s steeped deeply in the traditions of men, that the Bible proves to be a lie, and we know how Jesus feels about the traditions of men.
Mark 7: 5-9 5Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?6He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.7Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.8For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.9And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
Let’s look at the Christmas time Nativity Scene and see if your pastor or ministers or parents have been lying to you, by trying to tell you that Jesus is the reason for the season. Usually the scene consist of Baby Jesus; Mary, Joseph, the Shepherds and the, traditionally called, three kings (Biblically wise men or the Magi).
First of all it is common knowledge that Jesus was not born in December. That should be enough; but, since it’s not, let’s examine the Bible. This will not take a lot of studying, just two scriptures will give you the truth unless you choose to ignore them like the Pharisees and scribes did with Jesus about the truths He told.
Luke 2: 7-16, Speaks about the angels visiting the shepherds, and the shepherds going to find the new born baby Jesus with Mary and Joseph in a manger.
In Matthew 2: 9-11, The Bible tells us that the wise men find the young child (at least about two years old) with his mother in a house.
Therefore, these two scriptures from the Bible, shows us that the shepherds and the wise men were not at the birth of Jesus nor at the manger together. The wise men did not give gifts to Jesus at his birth.
OK, I see, you still want to keep your tradition and get your Christmas gifts, guess what, so do some pastors or ministers, that’s one reason why they won’t tell you the truth. And in some cases, they have also been deceived and have simply passed on the lies and traditions that they were taught without question and or truly studying God’s Word.
Ok I know you don’t want to think about this truth, so let me help you a little bit. I’ll think for you. So, as I stated previously, that it is common knowledge that Jesus was not born in nor around December. And since the kings or wise men did not give gifts to Jesus at his birth, at the manger, Jesus, in no way can be tied to the tradition of Christmas. You take it from here.
COMFORTED BY A LIE
Have you ever been to a funeral and heard this. ‘OUR LOVED ONE(S) HAVE GONE ON TO BE WITH THE LORD’ or, They are with the angels in heaven etc. And at times calling the funeral a Home going service. It may well be a home going service at some point, but which home are they going to.
Guess what, none of it is Biblical. REVELATIONS: 20: 11-15 speaks of resurrection and judgment at an end time, not immediately after ones death. And I haven't found in scripture that we will be with and or recognize our loved ones.
We may have thought they lived a righteous life, and are going to heaven. But what does Jesus think about this subject?
Will you, your Pastor, your family members or your friends fit into the following category.
Mat. 7:22-24 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Don’t be comforted by lies. You should be outraged being lied to like that by a trusted member of the clergy, your parents or anyone else. It's natural to morn and grieve after the lost of a loved one, that's OK. But being lied to about the situation is not.
