God is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. We serve a God that literally just spoke the world into existence. God is the same yesterday and today. He does not change. So we can be assured the same God David served is the same God we serve and worship today.
So, why shouldn’t we look at our problem as just a mere obstacle that our Lord is greater than? David saw Goliath as nothing more than just that. His faith in the Lord Almighty was bigger than even a giant. He didn’t let what he was seeing with his eyes cause him to accept defeat as the others did. He was willing to trust in God, the unseen. Most importantly, when the obstacle seemed too big to overcome, David didn’t give up. He fought through it. No problem of any kind is too big for our God to handle. He is bigger than broken hearts and relationships, messed up finances, health concerns, hopelessness, and even rejection. I experienced some of this first hand, so I know he can keep you encouraged until you are delivered from your circumstances. He can do the same thing for you! He is an exceptional God, a deliverer and restorer. You may not have suffered from some of the problems I mentioned, but we all have faced something that has kept us from receiving and believing in God’s best for us.
The battle of thoughts in our own minds is like an attack from the enemy. At times it can seem like the biggest giant of them all— WWI and WWII all together! It is the most deceptive tactic of the enemy. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 6:12, “For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms” (NLT). Our minds are attacked by the enemy and his evil spirits, and he tries to make it become our obstacle. Our minds seem to have a built in rewind button that keeps replaying what we would like to forget. We re-live past hurt, setbacks and disappointments. A giant can take any shape or form, and it tries to keep us from living the peaceful life God wants us to live. The thing to remember is—no matter what form it takes, or how big it might seem—we should not give any problem more power over us, than God. We must pray and ask God for strength and courage to stand firm and defeat any “Goliath” in our lives.

Giants can take any shape or form in your life. They can be past hurts of failed relationships, addictions, setbacks from life’s disappointments, and even the torment from yourself and your own negative mindset. You can become so overwhelmed by the many problems you have to face by looking at the size of them, and how they seem to tower over you. Goliath was over nine feet tall, and his size intimated the Israelites, except for young David. This book will inspire and motivate you to become like David and take God to battle with you. You will look at your giants in your life as defeated foes. After reading this book, you will feel encouraged and empowered to slay those giants and walk in victory in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
