THE UNSEEN
Prologue
The story I am about to tell you is hard to believe. I wouldn’t have believed it myself a year ago. I have discovered life doesn’t always respect our opinions. Life often throws unforeseen obstacles in our path which can redefine our worldview and overhaul our long held beliefs. This unexpectedly happened to me during a tumultuous year I spent in the town where I grew up. My views were dramatically altered beyond anything I could have imagined.
My primary purpose in writing this story was to offer a warning to those reading it. I hope you will read this story with an open mind and a desire to know the Truth-- which never changes. We are the ones who have to change.
This manuscript is a compilation of months of unbelievable occurrences which I experienced when writing a story for my magazine. And even though I am a journalist, I never would have written this unusual story unless I felt an obligation to do so. I know I am putting my career and reputation on the line by publishing this book.
Although my life revolves around words, I had never considered writing a book—until now. If this book doesn’t read like a bestselling novel, I ask that you would overlook my haste and perhaps my lack of skill in putting it all together. And because I felt a sense of urgency, I may not have given it the time and detail it deserved. I was not concerned about being on The New York Times Best Sellers List as much as I wanted to publish this book as quickly as possible.
Due to the unusual nature of this story, I ask you to read the entire book before you make your final judgment. But please understand, there is only one Truth and it does not change based on your belief. Your inability to believe will not change the Truth, but it will limit your life. The Truth is what sets us free.
If you fit into the category of people who only believe what they can experience with their senses, I can relate. I was one of those people. This no longer describes me. My definition of reality is no longer determined by the litmus test of what I can see, hear, touch and feel. My horizon has been expanded beyond the natural realm.
