The moon shone on the lake and within its light, the lake came to life like a million silver fish in a feeding frenzy, like a million sparks of emotion transcending across a heart lightened by the unending light of love.

For the moon shines like the beacon of love through the darkness both real and imagined, illuminating shadows trapped within themselves, released like a rush of windswept light, across the gentle lake.

The ocean claimed more of the beach then I had ever seen before,

Taking with each kiss the traces of others whom walked along its face.

With each withdrawal, leaving behind pieces of life both plant and animal,

Brown vegetation clumped like a berm against the waves re-planted in their place.

Jellied animals rolling on end in and out, like water tumble weeds on the silken water,

Some unable to maintain that roll, fanning out like transparent lace.

The life leaving the shell that once housed it, abandoned to the sand,

Was now a part of this new home, now a part of this new place.
