I know a tale
About a great big whale,
It started with a man, Jonah was his name
He ended up in trouble, with just himself to blame
One day, Jonah was out walking, as he often used to do
And heard God speaking to him saying “I have a job for you”.
Jonah was so glad that God would choose
Him to take a message to the Jews,
But God said “No. The message for today,
Is for a people a long way away.”
“Oh, who could that be Lord?” Jonah said
God replied, “not Jews, but Ninevites instead.”
‘O no, thought’ Jonah, ‘that’s not good.’
Maybe he’d misunderstood.
The message was so clear and plain
“Turn from your sin—serve God again”

About the Book
The Runaway Messenger is a children’s book written in rhyme, retelling the well-known story of Jonah and his unwillingness to obey God. Those who know the story well all know the outcome, but there is a challenge at the end of the book for us to respond to God’s call on our lives.
About the Author
Eunice has had vast experience teaching children the Bible. After Bible college, she worked in the UK with BCM International and then went to Thailand as a missionary, originally working predominantly with children. She now serves the Lord with OMF in Thailand, teaching all ages.
