Nothing has changed and the same is true for us today. If we allow him, the Lord will be with us wherever we go…even when we feel like our life is under fire or under siege. It is then God performs his best work because it is our trust and faith that fuels Him to move on our behalf. God needs us to endure; we are valuable to Him and he will provide his all encompassing grace to help us perform under pressure. In Joshua Chapter 3, it tells of the miraculous crossing of the Jordan River and as God promised Joshua, he was there with him and his people every step of the way, and God caused the waters that came down rushing at them to pile high and stop so the people could pass over the river. “And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan” (3:17). God demonstrated his unfailing grace even when the task appeared impossible. It is during these times God shows up and shows himself faithful to His word. He promises to perform on our behalf and he will provide us with courage to depend on him and not allow the giants in our life appear greater than they are. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). With Him on our side, his grace should give us confidence to proceed with courage, even when it appears the waters of life are rushing toward us.

About the Author
Pastor Jennetta Harris served as senior pastor of J-JOY Christian Ministries, Inc. in Rancho Cucamonga, California, for more than eleven years. Her teachings and exhortations of God’s Word have included her authoring “Inspirational Notes”, a monthly newsletter, hosting a weekly radio broadcast bible study and writing many articles for a local newspaper column, titled “From the Pulpit.” She continues to hosts’ workshops, conferences and Bible studies to inspire, to encourage and to empower others.
Jennetta travels around the globe and carries God’s Word wherever she goes embodying the genuine love of God for all people. Recently retired after more than a forty year career in corporate America, this leader and follower continues to search the ways of the Lord; gaining knowledge about people, purpose, and pleasure.
She is the mother of two adult children, Jennell and Elijah.
