God is not vain in the worship of Him. It is more akin to a loving married man and wife sharing sexual intercourse instead of rape, molestation and/or prostitution. For with God, it is giving in two directions, not just taking. He knew what He was doing when He set up sex and marriage. Marriage is preaching a part of the gospel in that a man and wife are sharing on two levels: 1) our flesh bodies, and 2) our souls/minds where our emotions and memories are stored. Sex between married couples (one male and one female) is a type of worship of, an honoring, a paying homage to, each other. With worship of God, it is also on two levels, but consists of our souls/minds and our spirits. The flesh interests Him not, it is the spirit that makes alive (John 6:63). The same way it is a man’s greatest desire to share his life, to share of himself, and inject his very essence into this wife, it is, likewise God’s greatest desire to inject Himself, His very essence, into His church, the Bride. Moreover, just as a husband and wife’s greatest joy is to bring forth “fruit” of her womb of his seed, likewise, it is God’s greatest joy for us as members of the body of the church, His Bride, to bring forth spiritual fruit. Our small minds struggle with the concept that a church with many members (about half male) is a bride to a Spirit Being. But, His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. He says- “And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife" (Revelation 21:9). Later in the book, He says, And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely” (Revelation 22:17). Our new, born-again spirits become one with Him. That is what the Old Testament “Day of Atonement” was picturing- Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, (by fasting) and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD (Lev. 23:27). This day pictured a time in their future, our present, that a human (if you choose to do the Romans 10:9-10 thing) could become one with God (in spirit, and later fully body and soul). That is part of what Jesus did for us when He atoned for the sin we could not atone for and that gave us the ability to be “At-one-ment” in spirit, with Him. Therefore, to worship Him is to give Him a chance to give Himself away, which pleases Him greatly. To worship satan is to feed his twisted vanity, and in the end, he will eat you like a black widow spider (and to think tree huggers worship fallen nature?).
In order for satan to have the worship he desired, he had to dethrone God. Then he, in his twisted thinking, thought he could satisfy that vain hunger within himself, thinking something like,
“Only if Jehovah would not come out on the stage, I could somehow get the angelic host to bow and prostrate themselves willingly before me the way they do when God manifests His presence.”
In satan’s thinking, he could have the angels spilling their emotions, dancing in the aisles, taking off their bras, and throwing them...... …on.....……the……….stage……….......Wait, wait............................, ah, hum….? I reckon angels do not have bras. Isn’t it interesting, though, to consider where that idea/action came from? What would possess women at a concert, listening to, and dancing to, the music to get that emotionally involved with what they are hearing to engage in such activity?.................huh…………can you say, “rock and roll”?………….. wonder if there could be a spiritual connection to satan’s realm? God seems to have built into us the desire to give ourselves away, to expose ourselves to (to not hide from) the person we desire. The women are giving an offering of sorts to the thing (in this case, music or the band creating the music, and to the spiritual realm—the wicked spirit behind the music) that has so stirred their emotions (I know, I know, not all rock is bad). This action is much like a wife undressing to give an offering of her body to her husband. Satan has learned how to draw on this built-in desire to worship, or belong to, something bigger than ourselves, and we have witnessed his perversion of it. In the case of the rock-n-roll-concert-emotional frenzy, satan gets to be the rock star here on earth that he once used to be there in heaven’s worship, but this time he actually gets what he wanted then; perverted worship. Ironically, these rock stars that our society refers openly to as “idols” receive such “worship” from their fans. Look at the destructive ways and destructive things these “idols” produce, and note that all this is on the emotional level, which is a carnal level, nothing spiritual or even logical about it. Emotionally (body and soul) we are influenced by these “idols”, while our spirits are not. What does God say about carnality? “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity (hostile) against God: for it is not subject to the law (or ways) of God, neither indeed can be” (Romans 8:6-7).
