My wife Laurie was at work and daughter and son were at school and work. I was exhausted. First I needed a shower. I kicked off my trousers and shirt walked into the bathroom, just as I turned the corner. Suddenly! OMG!! Standing or better yet hovering right in front of me! I saw a bright angelic silhouette glowing. For a brief second I was almost in shock yet strangely not frightened in the least and before I could speak, in my mother’s voice she said “It is time!” I said “NO! We are not ready!” She said “Yesss”. It was an all encompassing yes, in an assuring loving mothers tone. As if to say yes you are. Yes he is and yes we are. “And you must tell him when the time is right”. Again I said “No, I don’t have the strength.” I have nothing left. Again she said “Yeesss and you will have all the strength you need simply say Hail Mary’s all the way back to the hospital.” And just as quickly as she had appeared she then vanished. I thought what just happened. It was Mom, and hearing her voice for the first time in nearly a decade filled my heart with great joy and great sorrow.

About the Author
W. T. Cullen is a family man, well known in the community for serving many years on the fire and rescue department and being active in the local church. He is a self-proclaimed fixer, always rebuilding or repurposing some old antique. His shop is often called “a place where dinosaurs come back to life.” His door is always open, and many think of his shop as the local gathering spot.
