It is strange when people ask what my salvation verse was and I have to tell them.
About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have You forsaken Me?” (Matthew 27:46 NKJV)
As a twelve-year-old child, all I knew how to do was picture the face of that man on the cross. How sad He must have looked because His Daddy left Him. I loved Him so much my insides burned with understanding. I wanted to tell everyone around me what He had done for me. He knew how I felt. No one else in the world had ever known how I felt. I wanted to take the few words I knew about Him and spread them all around for the whole world to see how great He was to me.
I have never grown out of that childlike expectation and love of Jesus. He is still my hero. I am still His little girl. My greatest hope is that He will return soon and take me to be with Him forever. This is why I sign everything “Maranatha.” It is of Aramaic origin and means “Our Lord has come.” Indeed, He came the first time and will return again to take me to be with Him forever!
This is why I write: A writer has the gift of words. A writer is a word missionary.

Sandra’s dad died when she was eight years old. The ensuing events throughout her life included neglect, foster care, and poverty, defining who she became. She has an avid love for her Savior, Jesus Christ. Her hope is the certainty of His return. She is a child of God first. This relationship is permanent. She is blessed in this “under the sun” life, being a wife, mom, and word missionary.
