Samantha Marshall, a naive small town girl has a big city passion for the stage. Early participation in church and school musicals plus watching televised Broadway productions formed within her a dream of performing on the Broadway stage.

In this first book, Seattle School of the Performing Arts (SSPA) sets the foundation for Sammi's initial adventure away from her close knit family and tiny town in Arizona. Following her dream, however, leads Sammi down uncharted paths of fear, betrayal and challenge to her faith.

Mystery and disappointment shroud her arrival at The Markum Women's Residence on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle. Continued challenges in the big city, including a late night attempted attack on Sammi outside The Markum, test her faith and create a longing for the safety and love of home.

At times Sammi questions her decision to seek her dream. Maybe she should have listened to Mom and Daddy's counsel after all. Yet the ache in her heart presses her forward.

SSPA's Summer term is what brought her here to train for a stage career and it is where she meets charming, blue-eyed Kevin. Though clearly smitten, Sammie tries to persuade herself and her friends otherwise. As Summer term progresses so do several startling events; disturbing enough for Sammi to question Kevin's integrity. Can she trust him or will he betray her trust?

During a two week Summer break with her family in Arizona, Sammi prays and seeks counsel about her future. Should she return to Seattle to pursue a relationship with Kevin or follow her dream to New York City?
