You do what you do because of who you are. You are who you are because of how you think. You think the way you think because of what you know or what you were taught. A doctor, engineer, lawyer, politician, sorcerer etc are who they are by virtue of acquired knowledge. Indoctrination or in simple terms, the influence of “knowledge makes you who you are. It affects your perception, thought and consequently, what you do or cannot do. Hence the scriptures;
1. My people are destroyed for lack knowledge Hosea 4:6
2. My people have gone into captivity because they have no knowledge. Isaiah 5:13
3. And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free... John 8:32
I define knowledge is the acquisition of relevant information. Know is revelation and is therefore potentially powerful. It is like a key that unlocks doors, chains, gates, padlocks and whatever can be locked. It has the potential to produce freedom. As there are many locks so are there many keys. Every lock has its unique key. So for knowledge to produce an effective result, it must be applied in the right context and situation. This is wisdom. Wisdom is the rightful application of knowledge. It implies using the right key for the right lock, discerning difference and understanding purpose. As much as knowledge is critical, wisdom is superior and should be engaged in the act of deliverance. Wisdom is better than strength (knowledge or potential power) Ecclesiastes 9:16. And of course, Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. Proverbs 4:7.
Nothing happens by chance or coincidence. There is a purpose behind every event of life. You may not know or understand that purpose, nevertheless a reason exist. Your life has a purpose and your existence has a meaning. Once you discover this, you are on the path to fulfillment. The sooner in life this self-discovery is made, the certain it is that you will accomplish all that the Lord has created you to do. In light of this you should understand that there are reasons why the enemy enslaves you. You are not enslaved because the enemy has nothing better to do with his time. Not so. The purpose of enslavement is to strategically keep you distracted from purpose, to keep you from becoming the person that God has predestined you to be and to delay God’s purpose for your life for as long as possible, knowing that you have a limited amount of time to live here on earth. Many times you may be unaware of these strategies and tactics, even long after they have been set in operation. There are four reasons why you experience enslavement, limitation and devastation. These reasons are sometimes progressive and are listed as follow;
1. Frustration
2. Intimidation
3. Manipulation
4. Domination
