Caring of the sick and dying is a very rewarding job. It is an honorable commitment.
These people are direct and indirectly dedicated to honor, respect and love their patient no matter the circumstances.
This type of job is very challenging; it takes a physical and emotional toll and requires a strong commitment, perseverance and dedication to the client’s needs.
Sometimes, they are blamed and judged due to the suffering of their patients, clients or loved ones.
The sick and dying are likely to undergo unexpected changes in both physical appearance and emotional makeup. They are unable to help or support themselves and engage with others. They may also speak less, move more infrequently, and have difficulty in communicating and managing their own lives.
The sick and dying and their families sometimes have many treatment choices about what the sick and dying desire, need or want. Others might not have many choices.
Often our unanswered questions, needs, desires and prayers leave us blaming God and others for what happened in our life.
Does God really care who we are and how we are?
Where is God now?
It is sometimes hard to know or understand what is happening or going on.
In this challenging situation, the feeling that something was not right will not only lead the sick and dying to feel miserable, but also others who are connected or related to them will experience miserable moments in this remaining life.
No one can expect what will happen in his or her lifetime.
This question usually comes up when our life is not going well.
Does God really care about us?
Does God know what is going on with us?
Does God know what we are going through right now?
Is God letting us down?
However, when someone is experiencing a sick or dying situation, can they think about life after death or their future life?
The sick and dying person is probably having a hard time dealing with their health situation—how could they think their future life?
Dealing with these two important issues at the same time are not easy for them.
Then we question, “Can we prepare the sick and dying for eternal life?”
When we are aware of the reality of our mortality, it will lead us to have better understanding to analyze our lives, count every day our life, and seek more deeply the meaning of life in Him.
Welcoming God to help a person who is struggling will make a big difference. With God's help the caregivers, family, friends and the suffering person will all benefit from His attention.
It would be a question not only for the sick and dying, but also for helpers. When you read this entire book, you will find a way to help the sick and dying through God’s help.

About the Author
Erny Sarkany is the author of Our Pathways to Eternal Life, An Introduction, A Series on Preparing for Eternal Life.
She graduated from Computer Science, Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, and Jubilee Supernatural School Ministry, San Jose, California.
In 2009, she received God’s calling to assist and help the sick and those facing end of life issues.
She is currently licensed in California as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Home Health Aide, Certified Activity Leader, and RCFE Certified Administrator.
She spends her free time volunteering at Stanford Health Care in Stanford, California, and preparing thoughtful articles on “Our Daily Journal” and “Our Daily Words” website and Facebook.
