No matter what your situation, concern for your children, falls under a special category of potential worry. I can only speak here as a mother, because that is the only perspective that I can fully and honestly own. But for me, my child is in that tender spot. My child represents a special area of vulnerability and therefore a target for the enemy. That is all I will say about that, because I never want the devil to feel that I am giving him praise and recognition for anything. All I know is that there is no pain like the pain from a child, about a child, or in a child that can cause your very knees to buckle.
Prayer is the most awesome, yet undervalued, and underutilized weapon that a parent/believer has in our arsenal. It’s so stealthy and so subtle, yet powerful and worthy of respect. “…the weapons of our warfare are not carnal… (2 Corinthians 10:4). Please be patient with me because I want to make a case for the degree of power in prayer and how important it will become for you and your college student to send up prayers, while they are in the ‘land of Babylon’. However, having just met you – it might take me a little time to convince you of this and to fully understand what I mean, when I say “Babylon”. So I request a little latitude and your attention for a bit.

Lisa Blake has been an educator for nearly 15 years, a mother for over 25 years, a Born-again Christian for almost 30 years, and has served her local assembly -primarily working with young people. These life experiences have granted keen insight on how humans interact with information and how that information might be applied to motivate the individual to a more effective way of being. Lisa has had the opportunity to teach and mentor young people aged 5-25. She is a registered nurse, with a Master's Degree in Nursing and has a multiplicity of diverse interests. Ms. Blake freely states that the one area where she is gifted, is teaching. Whether she is teaching new nurses or expounding on the word of God, Ms. Blake has the ability to captivate the listener and builds on the content (and her knowledge of the individual) in order to motivate a person to move from knowing to doing. Ms. Blake has a new and unique fingerprint to leave on the literary world.
