About the Book

How did Heart to Heart come to exist?

I did not sit down one day and say, “Okay, I think I want to write a book of poetry.” I do like to journal and write during my devotional times but never considered it as a gift. It was through the leading of God that I began to write this book of poems, and that’s when the revelation was made clear that I was to share them with others through publishing. 

Heart to Heart is an inspirational book of poetry that can be used in your quiet times with God. Each poem gives a message to the reader in a way that he or she can relate to in different circumstances. No matter where you are spiritually in your relationship with God, Heart to Heart offers words of encouragement, faith, hope, and more. This small book is designed for everyone to embrace in their own special way.

Message to the Dreamer

Some of you may have had dreams at one time in your life that you gave up on and stopped believing in for whatever reason. But it’s okay to dream. God can still bring it to pass.

My name is Velisa Oliver, and this will be a new name to all of you who do not know me and choose to read my book, Heart to Heart. Although my name may be new to you, it is certainly known by God, and He has called me to share what you are about to read. I reside in Houston, Texas, with my husband, Anthony, and I am the mother of one son.
