I am layered with joy and colour
With swirls of ribbons that wrap their bands of colour around me
Gift wrapped, framed and displayed for the Creator whom is present
and layered in living colour
In a world that wants to believe in colour, see in colour
Has grown blind and dark to hearing colour layered all around them.

About the Book
Parchment Emblems: Poetic Meditations is a compilation of poems, journal entries, and general musings from the author’s personal journal collections. These writings span over several years and include her intimate experience of journeying with cancer.
About the Author
Christina Schoenrath has been a wordsmith for all of her life, exploring various forms but finding her home in the genre of poetry. Unfortunately, she was unable to see this publication come to fruition. She died in April of 2015. Born in Ontario, she spent many years living and working in western Canada. Wherever she lived or traveled, she embraced the world around her, including the wonders of the mountains, the serenity of the prairies, and the poignancy of the lakes from which she took her inspiration.
