Kaylee and Sir Thomas were up early. Kaylee was excited for church. Today was a very special day! After making her bed, Sir Thomas helped Kaylee pick out a dress to wear. “Which one do you like the pink one or the blue one?” Kaylee asked as Sir Thomas played with the ribbons on the blue dress. He paused, looked up at Kaylee then sat down. He looked both dresses over and hid under the pink one; peaked out; looked up at Kaylee and meowed. Kaylee giggled, “Silly kitty! I think you’re right. The pink one will be perfect for the celebration.”
As Kaylee got dressed she told Sir Thomas all about the special day. “Today is the day Jesus rode into Jerusalem and all the people celebrated! Even the children sang and waved palm branches to celebrate!” Sir Thomas tilted his little black head “Meow?” he asked curiously. Kaylee continued, “So today we are going to celebrate too! I’ve never seen a real palm branch before have you?” Sir Thomas almost fell off the bed chasing Kaylee’s ribbon as she stood up “Meow!”
Kaylee giggled and caught the little kitten, “Silly kitty!” Kaylee twirled and danced all the way to the bathroom while Sir Thomas circled and weaved through her legs.
As Kaylee washed her face and brushed her teeth, Sir Thomas groomed his fur till it was shiny. Then they twirled and danced right into Daddy in the kitchen. “Good morning Kaylee. Good morning Sir Thomas.” Daddy greeted them as he caught Kaylee mid twirl.
“Kaylee would you like to help me after church today? Nanny is coming by to pick up some things she needs.” Daddy asked as he set the table.
After breakfast and prayers they cleaned up and headed over to the church. Sir Thomas found a nice warm spot in the window where he could watch everyone coming to church. After a while he stretched, yawned, curled up and purred himself to sleep in the warm sunshine.
Kaylee enjoyed the special celebration. She liked waving the palm branch and Mrs. Jones said she could take hers home to show Sir Thomas.
Daddy and Kaylee left coffee hour a few minutes early. Mommy stayed to talk to some visitors.
Kaylee and Daddy went straight to the basement and started sorting through old boxes. Nanny would soon be on her way to pickup the old youth group things that she needed.
Kaylee loved hearing stories from Daddy and Nanny about their youth group.
“Daddy it’s a maze down here!” Kaylee giggled as she watched him shift more boxes out of the way.
Daddy looked around him, laughed and said “you’re right Kaylee, it is a maze of boxes.”
Kaylee weaved her way through all the boxes, stopping to peak in some on the way. “Oh neat! That’s interesting Daddy. What is it?” Kaylee asked as she pointed at something in a box. Daddy came over to where Kaylee was.
