This book was inspired while on the beach in Florida when the Holy Spirit prompted Brooke to grab a pen and paper. When she responded, the words just flowed through the pen. She remembered story after story where God showed up in her life in a dramatic fashion. She realized, as the songwriter Charles Miles wrote in his famous hymn “In the Garden,” God truly “walks with me and He talks with me.”
Stories range from bringing home puppies for Christmas to filling the empty arms of a barren woman. A prayer request through the church prayer chain draws Brooke to the death bed of a friend’s brother, while her forgetfulness leads her to the aid of a stroke victim. All are true events that occurred over the course of 20 years. These stories have been compiled to bring hope and encouragement to the reader that God is still on the throne and involved in the lives of people today.

About the Author
Brooke is a follower of Christ who strives to be obedient to the promptings of the Holy Spirit and show the love of Christ to all she comes in contact with. She is just an ordinary woman seeking to respond faithfully to those promptings. Her testimonies of God working through her in the lives of those around her truly bring hope. Though there are times that have gone by when opportunities have been missed, her desire is that these short stories will bless and encourage you, knowing that God is still working through His people today.
She is active in her church and leads a dinner ministry where women have gathered for more than twenty years for food, fun, and fellowship around God’s word. One of her main priorities in life was to see both her daughters graduate from their local private Christian school, then from a four-year college, and then encourage them to get their master’s degree in something. Her first daughter has recently acquired her master’s in apologetics, and the second has acquired her bachelor’s in business with a minor in Jewish studies. Both are working full time for a ministry that outreaches to the Jewish people.
Brooke’s’ passion is event planning and serving others.
