As It Is In Heaven

“Have I died?”

“If I’ve died, it means I didn’t pass out? – I’ve been aware of everything. I haven’t lost consciousness.”

These were all the questions rushing through my mind as I stood in my bedroom in the dark.

“I still feel like myself, and haven’t changed into this person that has sudden knowledge about everything.”

I was still thinking like myself – like Jeanne. I was still myself. My existence had not just ended. I had thoughts and memories and ideas even though I had moved from one form into another.

Luke 24:39 (NLT)

“... Look at My hands. Look at My feet. You can see that it’s really Me.”

Luke 24 contains a section where Jesus appeared to His disciples after He had died and was raised from the dead. He was still Himself – the same Jesus who died just a few days ago. He was moving into His glorified state.

As all these thoughts were coming up, I noticed that I started floating or moving away, upwards. I was able to move through the roof of our house and could see my neighbourhood. All was quiet. The street lights flickering, outlining the roads. I kept moving upward into the sky. As I looked up, I could see all the beautiful stars shining in the night sky. I didn’t feel cold or afraid. Instead, I had this immense peace and joy in my heart. An inexplicable happiness and love was upon me.

There was no way of controlling where I was floating to, but it was in the direction of the Heavens. The feeling of freedom and lightness was so unexpected and welcoming. It was the strangest and most exciting experience ever.

2 Corinthians 5:8 (NLT)

“... Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord.”

Travelling through the earth’s atmosphere, I was now moving through some clouds. After a few moments I found myself standing at the bottom of a flight of stairs that appeared through the clouds.

“Where am I?” I thought as I carefully made my way up the steps. There were a couple of individuals scattered around randomly on the stairs. Two of them sat close by where I was passing. They were studying a book with a black cover. It wasn’t the Bible, but I knew this book was about God and everything about Him.

“Were these students studying subjects about God and Heaven?”

Once I reached the top of the stairs I saw the most beautiful university. The building was massive – unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Its sheer size would probably match the size of the beautiful Louvre Museum in Paris. It was the colour of white grey marble stone, majestic in nature. What a beautiful sight it was.

The university grounds were covered with short green grass and elegant bricked pathways, winding through random tree placements. In the far distance I could see beautiful gardens and parks connected by similar stone walkways. It all looked so inviting, so I decided to take a stroll along the walkways, and see where they lead me. I still had no idea where I was, but I enjoy exploring a new place anyhow.
