My Glimpse of Heaven
The journey to Heaven opened the elements of the universe as I climbed to enter in the pearly gates. Looking down from the top of my home’s pop corned white ceiling, I can see my empty body’s frame as my disembodied soul hovers over my natural earthly body. I have left my earthly body and I am floating in midair. I am going up, up faster than the speed of light, as within a light. As I am looking around me, I know that I am conscious; while going through this long, dark brown and grey tunnel that has ridges on its sides.
Confused and bewildered, I am wondering what is happening, but I am not afraid, as I continue to go up, swiftly, through this long dark tunnel. Above me, I can see a bright shining light at the end of the tunnel, and I am being pulled towards that light. After coming out of the tunnel, I am in a large, open, empty space. Looking down, while continuing to rise, I see a round, green and blue sphere, which, I make out to be the earth; among the other circular planets. I see a bright, shining, radiating red sun, the silhouette of the new moon; and bright yellow stars flickering with the reflection of the distant light from the sun.
These objects of our solar system are all below me now, as I rise higher than they; and their views are magnificent. As the light pulls me forward even higher, I look up and see Heaven with two huge shining white doors. I think to myself, “Heaven has doors”, and before I finish this thought, immediately, I am inside these huge white double doors. Taking a closer look, these are not doors, but immensely large white gates; as stated in the book of Revelation: “And the gates of it shall not be shut at all, for there will be no night” (Revelation 21:25).
As I am entering these doors, looking to my right, I notice a lady, whom I have known since childhood, to be the “Christian lady”. Her name is Sister Lewinski. “Sister Lewinski is in Heaven,” I thought. She looks fair, slender, and tall as in her youth. She is wearing, a long, all-white sheer dress, which touches her feet. Her face and dress glow with a bright noticeable light, as she sits looking peaceful and serene. Then, turning her head and acknowledging my presence with her small brown eyes, she moves slowly in my direction.
She looks as if she knew that I was coming to Heaven, and she is at this moment, at the entrance waiting on me to arrive. My thoughts are: “I remember this lady from childhood; this is the lady who was always carrying the Bible, and has a lot of children.” But, at present, she is here, still looking in my direction, welcoming me with her gentle brown eyes. She smiles. This entrance room is large, white, and spacious. It has a fresh after the rain fragrance and connects to another room. Ms. Lewinski is sitting at the entrance.
Immediately following that, I find myself in a beautiful green garden with a golden path resembling a narrow dirt road. There is beautiful, luscious, tall green grass with multi-colored vivid flowers that blur into the distant background. The atmosphere is that of completeness and peace beyond any comprehension. Like the coolness of an air-conditioned room, or the serenity one finds as he lays on his mother’s bosom, the peaceful feeling in Heaven is indescribable. In the calmness, all fears are gone and I am more alive than I have ever been.

About the Author
Rosalind Morton- Mclemore is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University. She was an active member of Campus Crusade for Christ, and of Intervarsity Christian Fellowship. She attended and participated in Urbana Missions conferences, held in Urbana, Illinois. Ms Mclemore, a former high school teacher, Sunday school teacher and Community girls outreach teacher has been active in missions since her conversion at fifteen years of age. She is a mother of seven children, and has grandchildren. She attends Church in the West Palm Beach, FL, area.
