About the Book

Almost everyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one has also experienced seemingly endless quiet moments—moments when it seems you cannot see past today and moments when tomorrow, as you knew it, seems nonexistent. In these moments, all thoughts rush back into memory—memory so vivid it seems impossible to grasp that the person lost is truly gone from your life. Quiet Moments allows the reader to reflect on living and dying as two inevitable facts. It encourages the reader to believe and trust in God’s power to begin healing and restore wholeness.

About the Author

Margie Martinez is a retired Staff Assistant. Through a brother’s funeral home business, she became particularly moved by the premature passing of children. Margie began creating poems specific to every loss, but was most driven to memorialize children whose lives had barely begun, in her attempt to reach out to their grieving families. She has written poems describing, in detail, raw emotions people experience throughout the grieving process. The finality of passing from this life has inspired her to write “Grief Poetry” that she hopes will offer hope and healing, of which many ask where her insight has come from. Her poems in tribute to fallen military personnel have been selected for publication in professional magazines such as “Leatherneck, Magazine Of The Marines”. Her work can be found at Praise and Worship.com as well as on a memorial wall, dedicated to her poetry, at DeVargas Funeral Home. Her poems have been solicited throughout the US and Australia for use in eulogies, church bulletins, and memorials. She has self-published booklets titled Into The Light, The Journey Home, Lean On Me, and Come Home To Me. It has long been her desire to professionally publish her favorite, most solicited work, and has fittingly titled that book Quiet Moments.
