Blooming In the Desert

My Father, I do not have courage to face You or all that you have planned for me. You are God. You fear nothing. I am your child and I fear everything. This desert is parched! You speak of discipline, the rod of correction, and the raising of Your hand. I shiver at the thought of it all. I am weak. You are strong. I cannot come to You if my knees will not hold me up! What is there left for a coward? As children of God, it is time to utilize our resources in the Holy Bible to handle the difficult days ahead. The Bible judges our thoughts and attitudes. God judges the intent of everything we do. As one who bears God’s name, the Bible teaches that scripture can be used as a light shining into a dark place. This is why we have been given authority in high places to secure our position and borders before God utilizing the power of His word. By implementing God’s written law, we are being taught to have hope and to believe in the integrity of that law. Do not run from what will bring life-changing results! I have a special love story to tell you, and it goes something like this: The hour seems grave upon me as I lie there motionless in the awesome fear of the moment. The countdown has begun as I see the clock ticking. It is the perfect timing of the Lord. He is meeting my needs that are in high demand! I sense God’s presence as He reaches me right where I am. He comes for me. As surely as the sun rose, He has not forgotten His promises to me. As I lie there, His hand is under my head to cushion this final blow. He then raises me up to embrace me in His arms. It is so bitter, yet sweet! I see the darkness surround me. I feel death’s serenade. I hear a call of the deep, invoking an absolute surrender of my will. I choose to respond, I shall no longer fight! I can see the sun and feel its warmth as it penetrates my brow! Gazing just ahead, I begin to look upward toward where my deliverer cometh. When a King’s face brightens, it means life. God’s favor is like a rain cloud in the springtime. In doing so, I see the horizon with the Master in all His glory, catapulting me to the finish line, where there are no limits, no boundaries, and most of all no opposition! We should truly stand amazed! We have an eternal flame empowering us for the impossible possibilities of life.
