Joshua 1:9 New Living Translation. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
This scripture passage is very encouraging. God in His great wisdom knew that we would face moments of discouragement on this earth. Truly if we talk with other believers we find that many are facing trials and tribulations that have the potential to be quite discouraging. But God gives us a message to hold on to in these difficult times. It brings to mind a person trying to stay afloat in water, they are struggling and the water is deep. That person called for help and it seemed that no one could reach them. But just when that person believes they are going to sink, someone throws them a lifeline, be it a rope or a small rescue boat, the one who was about to give up not only was removed from a point of discouragement but progressed to a point of encouragement. They were not alone out there on the waters. Someone saw their predicament and found a way to lend a hand.
Our precious Lord is sending us a lifeline in this passage of scripture. We need not be afraid or discouraged. We are not alone. The Lord is with us wherever we go.

I accepted Jesus Christ at the age of five and have been seeking to do His will in many ways, including studying and teaching His Word.
One of my greatest concerns for believers and for those who have not yet received salvation involves the ability to apply Biblical knowledge in all aspects of life. If someone remembers a Scripture but does not have the ability to use it for direction in life, the word of God is not being used to its fullest.
I live in the Midwest United States. I have a Heavenly Father whom I adore, and a lovely family, whose company I greatly enjoy. I am extremely grateful for the sacrifice that Jesus made for all of us so that we may have eternal life.
John 3:16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
