To be accepted by others is a feeling that most people share. No matter where you are right now in life, you want to feel loved and appreciated and know that you have the support of people whom you love and respect. In today’s world, acceptance from others is normally based on your outward appearance, personal status, or social status in life. Some people feel they are accepted because of their outer beauty or physical features. Some people find their acceptance based on their professions, living in a certain neighborhood, or being affiliated with particular clubs or groups of people. The standards society sets concerning acceptance can have a tremendous effect on you, if your focus is based on this type of acceptance. People tend to accept you based on their own personal standards, whether right or wrong. But God sees in you what others do not see, because God is not like people. In this place with God, you do not have to feel the need to be something that you are not, because God loves and accepts you just as you are – with no strings attached. God is full of love; He is ever ready to forgive and shower you with mercy twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
Being in this place with God provides you with a safe shelter from everything that tries to keep you from enjoying and overcoming difficult situations. This place is a constant shield from the many darts that are thrown at you in life. For the dart of rejection and low self-esteem, there is acceptance in this place with God. For the dart of betrayal and hurt, there is forgiveness in this place with God. For the dart of tough times and impossible situations, there is victory in this place with God. For the dart of not knowing where you fit in or finding your mark in life, there is purpose in this place with God.
You can find comfort and stability in this place with God regardless of where you are and who you are with. Nothing and no one can deprive you from being in this place with God. In this book, I want to take you on a personal journey of being in this place with God through finding your place of acceptance, forgiveness, victory, and purpose in life. My prayer is that you will be encouraged in knowing that there is no better place to be than in this place with God!
