Just as they were about ready to enter the terminal with their luggage, a man dashed up to Antoinette with a bouquet of flowers. “For a beautiful lady!” He said in English. She recognized Dr. Stan, glanced at the children, and then glanced back to him. “Thank you, but I have nowhere to put them.” She said politely and moved on. “Wait, they are silk, not real.” He said smiling. Now the twins began to giggle to themselves and Monique asked, “Do you know this man Antoinette?” Angrily, Antoinette answered, “Yes, I know him.” Then Jacque said, “If you know him, it would be rude not to speak to him.” “You are right Jacque.” Antoinette said as she stopped and turned quietly to speak to Dr. Stan. “What are you doing here?” He then said, “I couldn’t let you leave without saying good bye. That is why I wanted to drive you to the airport.” Lowering her voice, Antoinette said, “I told you that I didn’t want to arouse suspicions in the children and that is why I didn’t want you to come.” Antoinette, at least take the flowers and I will be on my way. Can I see you when you return?” Antoinette took the flowers from him, stuffed them in her carry- on bag and said, “I don’t know.” Then she proceeded to walk away.
