April 29 "Dear woman, why are you crying?" John 20:13 Like Mary, we find ourselves sobbing our hearts out. We can't see Jesus. We are lost. Then Jesus comes, He calls our name. The clouds lift and the sun shines. This is the essence of life, being with Jesus. April 30 Simon Peter asked, "Lord, where are you going?" And Jesus replied, "You can't go with me now, but you will follow me later." But why can't I come now, Lord?" he asked. "I'm ready to die for you." Jesus answered, "Die for me? I tell you the truth, Peter-before the rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will deny three times that you even know me. John 13:36-38 Jesus knew that Peter wasn't ready for the work he wanted to do. Jesus also knew Peter would one day be ready. Peter went on to lay down his life for the Lord. God sees where you are now and where you will be one day. He knows how to build character. He wants you to fulfill your potential more than you do. As you walk with Him, He will continue to grow you and expand your capacity to serve Him. June 27 If you want to try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. Matthew 16:24 To be successful in Jesus eyes, you need to be a loser. Lose what you are holding on to. Hold on to Jesus. June 28 For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 If you were to make a list of the attributes of God, what would they be? I think you'd say things like kind and loving, generous and merciful. One of the attributes that I love is that He is a planner! Jeremiah 29:11 demonstrates that. God plans. He plans for our future. He plans because He loves you.

About the Book
Many years ago, I stopped going to church. I was busy with my life and to tell the truth, wasn’t interested in God. He had always been portrayed as a God of rules. After a few years, I had children and started thinking about what I would teach them. One day, I decided to take them to church. During that service God spoke to me. He asked me to come back. I told Him, “No thanks, I am not interested in the rules.” He said, “Come, get to know me.” I reluctantly agreed. This book is about getting to know and falling in love with God. It is a culmination of thought-for-the-day emails that were sent out during the period of time that I was getting to know God. God has walked me through it one baby step at a time. He will do the same for you.
About the Author
Elaine Kapetanakis is an everyday missionary looking to grow her relationship with Jesus and share that with others. In addition to doing her everyday job, she wants to be a woman after God’s own heart seeking to know Him through prayer and time. She resides with her husband in Northern Virginia. She has been blessed with two children, Ryan and Meagan.
