Admittedly, I was in shock and while ecstatic and full of hope, fearful as well. There is an unnerving and flurry of sensations when one is full of so many juxtaposing emotions. How can one be hopeful and fearful? Stressed and relieved? Full depth of high and low at once? How does one describe such vastness, the expansion of contrasting emotions? As I read scripture and picture Jesus, beaten, broken and torn on the cross, I can’t help but describe it as Amazing Beauty.
Amazing Beauty
Lord, did you know it would hurt this much?
The mission to overthrow sin’s clutch
Then the promise of being reunited with the Father,
Becoming Lord and Savior
Did you experience fear and yet, joy?
The torment to save the world from its ploy
Being separated from truth and love
Righteously timing the day of divine reunion
How long did it feel like to be separated from I AM
Were you longing yet wholly content
At such a stunning cost
The everlasting price has been paid
It’s your Amazing beauty
Holy essence, disfigured and bent
Are your scars now just a story
Since you have entered your glory
You are my Paradise
But first, this life
I too have scars. Physical scars on my stomach from both surgeries, spiritual scars as I continue on with this life, waiting for Jesus to take us home. Emotional scars as I heal and let go. This is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior, all the day long. I ended up miscarrying this pregnancy as well. Losing this one shocked even my doctor as he thought I would carry this one to full term. In the end, there’s much speculation as to why I can’t keep a pregnancy, but nothing concrete is known.

Amazing Beauty details the chronological account of one woman’s messiness in losing five different babies to miscarriages and a tubal pregnancy. Over a span of five years, from almost dying to being on the brink of divorce, to seriously contemplating death, and through it all, the Lord gently led, healed and mended one woman’s heart, soul, mind and body. This book goes deep underground and honestly portrays one woman’s struggle with infertility and loss. Even in today’s sensational culture, miscarriage is still a topic of taboo and one that is quickly hushed.
Amazing Beauty shows how through our darkest hours, the only spark of light to be illuminated is by the hand of God. The finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross displays the most divine amazing beauty through love, hurt, forgiveness, and suffering. Women, and their men, will be able to label their confusion and ultimately, start the process of healing and letting go, by letting God.
About the Author
Su and her husband, Joe, live in Delaware, near the area beaches. Su’s professional experience includes fifteen years in corporate business and management and has earned an MS degree in business. Joe and Su own and operate Spanners, an on-site service for computer and automotive repairs. Su enjoys hiking, traveling, writing and just hanging out with Joe.
