'A Caregiver's Divine Choice'
This is the perfect book to give all baby-boomers, all caregivers at home, retired couples, doctor's offices, those working in nursing facilities, and adults with aging parents, Gentile and Jewish, and all nationalities. Our Heavenly Father is no respecter of persons, and He loves us personally and desires for us to love him back, to seek Him in our everyday life. The majority of us had parents that cared for us, providing clothes, warm food and shelter, and to the best of their ability loved us unconditionally. Should not we be prepared to care for them in their last years? 'A Caregiver's Divine Choice' will enlighten your path through her true story. The first chapter reveals a struggling lonely widow in the country in a broken down house, surrounding by acreage. Ruth feels cut to the heart to get her out of there and to bring her home, however, Naomi's youngest daughter is vehemently opposed. At that time, Ruth was a single divorced mother of four children and Naomi had no regard for her at all. Still Ruth believed the Lord of heaven and earth had placed this pitiful elderly woman directly in her path of life. She and the children had taken in a teenager twice, taken in birds that fell from the nest, and many a stray dog, but this was the first grandma. A Clip From the Book ~~~ {The 'shadow of madden' stood tall in his dark colored cloud beckoned by his seeds of underhanded demons 'exasperate' and 'confuse.' Together they devised a plot to plant seeds of confusion around Naomi while Ruth was outside working, for they could not possess anyone there, for God's Spirit resided in them all. Yet, this little plan will definitely exasperate Ruth, maybe she will quit.} ~~~ Heather is drying dishes and she notices that all the sharp knives are missing, "Grandma did you give dad all of our knives to sharpen?"
Boaz listens, raising his eyes over the newspaper and replied, "No honey, does she want me to sharpened them, I'll be glad to?"
Ruth hearing the conversation goes over to peek in the drawer, "Good grief, where have all the knives gone, they could not have disappeared." Ruth immediately embarks an investigation searching drawers and cupboards and even the refrigerator without success.
49 ~ hides all sharp knifes in house: "Honestly, at times I think I'm going crazy around here, because I put them all in this second drawer with all our other utensils." Ruth continues to follow through with a second desperate search, in the oven, cupboards and refrigerator, thinking Naomi may have moved them. Ruth then asked, "Mom, have you seen the knives anywhere?" However, Naomi simply took a deaf ear saying not a word.
Heather informs, "Mom, early yesterday they were all there because I used one to cut an apple, there were lots of knifes in the drawer at that time." Then she whispers again to her mom as grandma left to her room, "I bet grandma's done something with the knives, missing like your pantyhose."
Ruth answers quietly, "Well, guess it is time for us to go on a good scavenger hunt, you are probably right. Truthfully she may not remember moving them,” and they laughed continuing the hunt. Heather rummaged around the screened-in porch searching everywhere, while Ruth looked throughout the couch, sticking her fingers from side to side in all of the cushions, but found nothing except a few popcorn kernels, and she began to feel exasperated.
Finally, that evening after Ruth helped their mom into the tub, she began to inspect Naomi's closet and dresser drawers, but surprisingly found nothing. Later when she went to their bedroom and told Boaz the dilemma in private, "Honey, we have looked all over the place for those knives. I know this sounds ridiculous but my brain flashes back to that terrible movie ‘Psycho’ that had been so frightening, I wish I never saw it. If I only knew what to expect next, then I am sure it would not frighten me at all.
Boaz unruffled states, "Honey, mother has always been a Christian, she's the serious type, but believe me, she would never hurt anyone." Boaz, her faithful one, remains unruffled and completely at ease, nodding off to a peaceful slumber.
Ruth thinks about her young daughter in the next room and with Naomi staying up, rummaging around in her room every night she feels justified with concern. After they all said goodnight, Ruth lay still, eyes wide opened listening for sounds of footsteps, as a deer of prey in the forest listens for any tinge of movement from an unknown predator. Naomi's sleepless wanderings are now creating a nightly fear of 'Psycho,' ready to strike. ~~~ {'Exasperate' and 'confuse' laughed, "We are going to scare her into submission, for she is almost petrified. See how she has been staying awake for the last three nights, aha, aha, and now we can stay around here awhile and heckle the cows too. Oh no, listen to that she is praying, fouled again!"} ~~~
"Father [YHWH] in heaven, you are aware of our every situation in life, years ago when that evil movie came to the theater, it put an awful fright in me. You know if mom hid those knives, and her purpose is likely innocent, I thank you now, for your peace and protection over us all. I do believe in my heart that Naomi has Alzheimer's disease, thank you for hearing me Abba Father [YHWH] my trust must be in you, in Jesus [Yeshua] precious Name."
Four days later when Ruth changed grandma's sheets, she notices something is sticking out from under the middle of the mattress near the foot of the bed, part of a pillowcase. When she pulled it out, there were all the knives neatly rolled up between the box spring and the mattress, mystery resolved! Ruth whispered to God, "How do I keep peace in this bizarre situation?"
God's Spirit quickly soothed Ruth's mind giving her a simple answer. "Speak the truth in love," the Spirit softly spoke to her heart.
Ruth realized that included a loving attitude so she walked into the kitchen determined to speak lovingly, and not accusing. Naomi looks up and she recognizes the pillowcase that she hid.
"Mom, see what I found . . . all our missing knives," Ruth proceeds to put them back in the drawer. "Mom, whenever you need to use them you may help yourself because they belong to all of us." (God's Spirit gave the words).
Naomi humbly watches Ruth replace the knives into the drawer as she is thinking, 'Are those my knives that I saved to take back home?' Then conceded, "Thank you dear, you are so sweet to me."
"Mom, I bought you some denture cleaner today so we can put your teeth in this little container with a tablet, and it will make them clean and white for you, if you give them to me," Ruth smiled and held out her hand.
