Divine Strategies For Overcoming Life's Struggles

ife in many instances has a peculiar way of turning out. As children we live in a ‘happy-go- lucky’ world. We never worry about bills or where our next meal will come from. When we are sick as children, we have faith in our parents and the doctor to help us improve. But how we change as we get older! As adults we are faced with many challenges, here is a list of problems that we can encounter. Below are just a few problems that I would like to address in this book:

Before we can go any further, we must first know what these problems entail. Below I have given a brief definition of each problem: (Definitions taken from: http://www.merriam-webster.com, unless stated otherwise)

Sickness - an unhealthy condition of body or mind or the state of being sick.

Adultery - sex between a married person and someone who is not that person’s wife or husband.

Fornication - consensual sexual intercourse between two persons not married to each other.

Pornography and Sexual Addiction - movies, pictures, magazines, etc., that show or describe naked people or sex in a very open and direct way in order to cause sexual excitement.

Sexual Fantasies –thinking about sex or sexual acts with a person or thing on a consistent basis.

Cyber Sex Addictions - activity in which people become sexually excited by sending messages about sex to each other over the internet.

Homosexuality - erotic activity with another of the same sex.

Gender Confusion – persons who may be ‘confused’ about whether they are male or female. They may have been born a male, but say they feel like a female inside.

Financial Struggles –Persons who are not making enough money to support the needs of their family or themselves.

Depression - a serious medical condition in which a person feels very sad, hopeless, and unimportant and often is unable to carry on their daily activities in a normal way.

Suicidal Thoughts –thinking about taking one’s life.

Family Indifferences – arguments and difficult situations that arise in the family or between family members.

Hate - intense hostility and aversion usually deriving from fear, anger, or sense of injury.

Anger - a strong feeling of being upset or annoyed because of something wrong or bad: the feeling that stimulates someone to want to hurt other people, to shout, etc.; the feeling of being angry.

Jealousy - an unhappy or angry feeling of desiring to have what someone else has.

Grief - deep sadness caused especially by someone’s death, usually a friend or loved one.

Rejection - to refuse to believe, accept, or consider (something).

Teenage Pregnancy – a young lady (usually between 13 -19 years old) who is not an adult female who becomes pregnant.

Molestation /Rape - to harm (someone) through sexual contact; to touch (someone) in a sexual and improper way.

Drug and Alcohol Addiction - a strong and harmful need to regularly have something such as a drug or alcohol.

Guilt – a bad feeling bought on by knowing or thinking that you have done something wrong.

Un forgiveness – a grudge against someone who has offended you.

Social Isolation – to move away from any social gatherings or outings with friends, family members and associates; keeping yourself separate or alone from other human contact.

Marriage Problems – problems or situations that arise within a marriage that may be difficult to solve.

Church Issues – problems or situations that arise within the church setting or between church members and followers.

Weight Problems – the inability to stabilize your body weight where it is healthy.

These are just a few problems that I have been led to mention in this book. These problems in my opinion are the most common struggles that are faced by many individuals. After identifying the struggle, I feel the real healing can begin with the help and power of the Holy Spirit!
