About the Author

Minister Laverne Booker was born in 1965 and raised in the city of Newark, New Jersey, She has two biological children, Evans Montlouis and Gabrielle Montlouis. She is married to Joseph Earl Kornegay. Minister Booker has been employed by the State of New Jersey, Board of Public Utilities for twenty-eight years as an administrative assistant.

Minister Booker attends the Second Macedonia Baptist Church in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She attended the Christian Love Bible Institute, where Reverend Ronald B. Christian is the pastor. Under the teachings and directions of Dr. T.H. Rankin Jr., she graduated in 2008 and received her certificate in Introduction to Biblical Doctrines Part I. She continued her studies at the Christian Love Bible Institute and graduated in 2012 with a BA in biblical doctrine. Minister Booker is the author of the 2012 book Your Location Is Not Your Destination. She gives all the glory to God for her many accomplishments. Her goal is to establish a shelter to help battered women overcome abuse. Her favorite Scripture is Psalm 27: “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? He is the stronghold of my life; whom shall I be afraid.”
