About the Book
Leaving home is a big step for both teenagers and their parents. There is no question it is an exciting time full of choices that matter. But while teenagers push for independence from their parents, some parents may attempt to pull their children closer. Thankfully, with the Lord’s help and open communication from both sides, it can be a time of great personal and spiritual growth for everyone involved.
Mary Choate Hibdon, a seasoned businesswoman and spiritual mentor for youth, shares both pragmatic and spiritual guidance grounded in the Word that helps Christian parents and teenagers prepare for the time when a child is ready to leave home for college, work, or to start a new life of independence. Through a step-by-step process that encourages parents and young adults to communicate needs, make thoughtful decisions, and embrace blessings from God, Hibdon encourages everyone that it is possible to live together in harmony, even as a child ventures out into the world alone. Included are helpful tips for young adults that address ways to maintain a home, create a delicious meal, and incorporate manners into everyday life.
Leaving Home with Peace and Purpose shares practical advice that helps Christian parents and teenagers prepare for the time when a child is ready to achieve independence.
