Rocky was born in a litter of just three kittens.
Rocky was the smallest. Teddy was the biggest and Ruby was the prettiest.
One day Ruby went away. Momma told them Ruby went to live with her new family. And that would happen to them too.
The boys were sad for awhile. Teddy said, “Being sad makes my chest hurt.” Rocky thought, “Me too, but it won’t last.” The boys missed Ruby but were glad they had each other.

About the Author
Bill Van Dusen has been a teacher and coach for forty years. Bill won a teacher of the year award in 1989. He serves his church as an Extraordinary Minister of the Word and Holy Communion. Bill lives in Glassboro, NJ, with his wife, Linda, and serves as a “cat valet” to Davy and Bo.
