A fresh Start
“Rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, insincerity, envy, and all slander; like newborn infants, long for pure spiritual milk so that through it you may grow into salvation, for you have tasted that the Lord is good. Come to him, a living stone, rejected by human beings but chosen and precious in the sight of God.” -1 Peter 2:1-4
It is not as hard as you may think it is to start over. You may be feeling that you are too far gone or that God is angry with you for the choices you have made in your life but that is never the case. God is always at the ready for you to open up your heart and soul to him. I spent a lot of time being angry at God for things that had happened to me that I blamed him for, I stopped going to church and I was judgmental of others who followed God’s path. When I came back to Christ I was worried that God would not accept my plea for forgiveness and that I would be doomed to live in agony for the rest of my days. I was wrong, really wrong.
God took me back, with all my sin and anger he forgave me and blessed me beyond belief. He will do the same for you only when you are ready to let go and give him total control over your life, mind, body and soul. That is the hard part, humbling yourself and realizing that without God you are nothing. All the good things that happen in your life are because of him and he will continue to bless you abundantly once you hand yourself over to him.
Prayer-
Lord, I am ready to let you into my heart. I stand before you sinful and sorry for the things that I have done wrong. I accept Jesus into my heart and I ask that you take control over my life, remove the people and situations that are harming me or give me the strength to overcome them. I give myself to you completely Lord, heal my heart and soul and let me awaken to a new beginning of life with you. Amen.

About the Author
Cristina Salazar Tharp lives in a small Texas town with her husband, Zachary, her daughter, Novalie, and their dachshund, Willie. When she is not writing she works as a substitute teacher’s assistant in special education classrooms. She also teaches religious education and spends her spare time researching possible cures for fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, both conditions of which she is a fighter.
