A is for Angel
• Do you know what an angel is?
An angel is a spiritual being created by God. They are God’s messengers sent to do his work.
• What do you think a messenger is?
A messenger is someone who delivers a message to someone. For example, if I tell you to go tell Dad dinner is ready, and you do…. You are the messenger because you are bringing Dad a message.
• What kind of places do you think God sends his angels?
• What kind of message do you think they have? Or what do they need to tell someone?
The jobs of an Angel:
• Some angels serve believers — or help people that believe in God. (Hebrews 1:14)
• Some angels protect children — God assigns special angels to watch over and protect you! This angel is known as your guardian angel. Your angels can talk to God at any time, because they are always near him! (Matthew 18:10)
• Some angels are sent to people by God to give them a message. (Revelation 14:6-12)
• Some very special angels are called archangels. They are high ranked and holy angels that are appointed to do a special job. Michael and Gabriel are two different archangels you will learn about while reading the bible.
• What do you think your guardian angels’ names are?
• What do you think your angels look like?
• Is there anything that you would like your angels to tell God for you?
Psalm 91:11
(Repeat after me)
For He will…
Command his angels…
Concerning you…
To guard you…
In all your ways...
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you so much for the angels that you have assigned to us. I pray for a blanket of protection over these children. Lord I ask that you bless them for their good works in protecting us! We also pray for humble hearts and childlike faith so that we are always aware that they are near us. It is in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!
Trace the Letter A
Craft: Create an angel!
1. Trace both of your child’s hands and one foot. Make sure the fingers stay close together while tracing.
2. With toes pointing down, glue the hands to the back of the foot creating wings. (The foot will be the body.)
3. Cut out a picture of the child’s faced and glue it on top of the heel of the foot. (Your child could also draw a face on a piece of paper)
4. Use a pipe cleaner to create a halo and glue to the back of the head.
