Chapter One: “Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.” Proverbs 31:10
Who can find a virtuous woman? The word virtuous means high moral excellence. Not just having a high standard according to the righteousness of the noblest person but to attain God’s high standard. As you look into becoming a ‘Virtuous Woman’ you must realize she is of great value to God and more importantly she is very rare. Rubies are the rarest and most valuable of all gems. In comparison of a diamond and a ruby of same weight and size the ruby is of more value. A genuine natural ruby is harder to find than a diamond (or any other precious gem) and rubies are exceedingly fragile. The miner that finds them must have great skill in cutting and removing the ruby because it is easily fractured and lost when handled incorrectly. You are the precious ruby in this story but your value to God is far above the value of many rubies. The Master Miner (God) has found you, loves you and desires for you to be set in a ring to show off how rare and beautiful you really are. He must first skilfully cut and remove you from the earth (sin and this world) from which you feel the most comfortable. You will not be the ‘Virtuous Woman’ until you have learned of God’s ways and have been removed from the dirt and mire of this world and its low standards. God will use His skill and specialized tools (His word) to gently yet dramatically mold your heart’s desires, attachments and comfortably from the things in this world. God’s love and plan for you is so amazing that He has even given you a detailed instruction book for this life, the Bible, in it you will learn what to love, what to hate, and most importantly you will come to know the Creator of you. As you prepare your mind to accept the challenges ahead realize your value in His eyes. God sent His only Son to ransom your soul from sin and the grave. In the history of creation the Creator has never paid such a price for anything else and He now wants to give you an amazing life. There is nothing the human race has given to Him to warrant such love, such endowment. We have not brought profitable revenues to His kingdom, yet He greatly values your soul and relationship with Him. As you get to know the Bible and thus, the Lord, you will begin to learn it is possible to grow and metamorphosis into a ruby of highest value. The Word of God will reveal your heart to you and open all the things which He desires to shape one by one. “For the Word of God is quick (alive) and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and the marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” Hebrews 4:12-13 God’s Word will separate reality from your own emotional rationalizations (dividing soul and spirit), the actions you take and in whose strength you are doing them (dividing the joints and the marrow) and will divide the true motives behind those actions and reveal your own thoughts from His will (dividing the thoughts and intents of the heart). Every woman has the ability to be her own Virtuous Woman. As you embark on this amazing adventure you will find it is a personal path between you and God. There is no “one size fits all” answer. Only He has the power to transform you and shape you into your most beautiful form. Learn how to be honest with yourself as you look deep inside your person. Only when you allow Him access to your heart is when you will experience true success. The very first thing you need to do, as you begin this very exciting journey in your life, is to change your perception of what is important. Your perspective (point of view) impacts your life in every way; relationships, direction of life, happiness. The values held closest to your heart impacts everything surrounding your life. You can view and better understand what the perception of your life is by the things you feel are most important. The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.” Matthew 6:21-22
